uk commercial vehicle production up
Data last week from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show UK commercial vehicle production up 2% to 90,853 for the year to date. The total for the month of May was 12.3% up, to 16,955.
"It is the sheer diversity of the UK automotive sector that helps keep it on an even keel," said Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive. "Trucks and vans, diverse products themselves, continue to add value to UK plc. with 60.8% of production so far this year heading for export markets."
